What happens to Tom Holland's Peter Parker in 'Spider-Man: No Way Home'?

Spider-Man: No Way Home is Tom Holland's third appearance as the web-slinger in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The sequel to 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home, directed by Jon Watts, has Spidey take on villains from the superhero's past

including Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina), and Electro (Jamie Foxx), thanks to multiverse hijinks.

The sequel also has noteworthy crossovers with previous Peter Parkers

including Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, as they work together to restore equilibrium across numerous universes.

Following the defeat of the baddies, one of Green Goblin's bombs destroys the confinement box containing Doctor Strange's (Benedict Cumberbatch) failed spell.

As a result, Spider-Man's identity is known throughout the multiverse.

To break the spell, Peter Parker (Holland) determines that if everyone forgets who he is, no one would remember who Spider-Man is.

Doctor Strange complies because he sees no other option.

Parker tells his two buddies MJ (Zendaya) and Ned (Jacob Batalon) that he will locate them again before casting the magic.
