Taylor Swift's 'Eras Tour' grosses $92.8 million North America and $123.5 million worldwide.

Taylor Swift's "The Eras Tour" concert film has debuted to $92.8 million in North America and $30.7 million abroad, bringing the film's first weekend total to a whopping $123.5 million worldwide.

These ticket sales are slightly lower than Sunday's expectations of $95 million to $97 million domestically and $126 million to $130 million globally, but they are still extremely excellent.

It's the second-biggest October debut of all time in the United States, trailing only "Joker" ($96 million) in 2019.

"The Eras Tour" easily achieved the best start of all time for a concert film, as well as the seventh-biggest opening weekend of the year, despite minimal promotion and unique distribution techniques.

It's an impressive start for a film that wasn't even scheduled until six weeks ago.

"October would have been terrible without Taylor Swift," says Jeff Bock, an exhibitor relations expert. "This is a huge bright spot."

Because it is not being distributed by a big studio, the film traveled an unusual path to theaters.

Instead, the pop artist collaborated with AMC Theatres, the world's largest cinema chain, to release the film.
