Sherman Oaks' Malama Pono serves Pacific-inspired fusion

As reported by KABC, Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles Malama Pono, located on Ventura Boulevard in Sherman Oaks, is the place to go if you want to provide your taste buds with a meal that they will actually experience and appreciate.

From the owner's perspective, "It's kind of fun to create something out of nothing," said Brent Myung.

It was in February of 2020 when Myung and his business partner did exactly that, and as a result, Malama Pono is now a paradise for foodies.

The restaurant has a California flair with a Pacific flavor, and it offers a comprehensive cuisine with a primary emphasis on seafood.

"People always ask, 'What's your favorite dish?' and I'm like, 'Honestly, everything I love,'" according to Myung.

"Malama" literally translates to "to take care of," and that is just what their guests can anticipate.

One of the many mouthwatering dishes that can be found here is the panko-crusted mahi mahi that is served in a pineapple butter sauce.

Another option is the lightly breaded fried chicken that comes with a tomato ginger sauce for dipping.
